At Gravita, we are proud to work alongside Gardner Leader, a respected law firm with a presence in Oxford and beyond. Our partnership is based on mutual respect and the shared expertise we bring to each other, strengthening our combined efforts to serve clients with excellence. We value the relationship we’ve built and are deeply appreciative of the collaborative nature of our work. It’s this sense of community and shared purpose that makes our partnership so rewarding—both internally and externally.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we are reminded of one of Gravita’s core values: we care deeply. This value is woven into everything we do, from the way we support our team members to how we engage with clients and prospects. It drives our commitment to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion at all levels of our business. This value is not just about the actions we take within our own walls, but also how we support and uplift the communities around us.
Our sponsored event, hosted by Gardner Leader, was an inspiring day to commemorate International Women’s Day at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. The event brought together over 100 leaders from various industries, including business owners, academic leaders, and professionals, creating a powerful space to recognize the significant contributions of women across multiple sectors such as business, life sciences, and technology.
As a proud sponsor of the event, Gravita was honoured to contribute to an morning of celebration and inspiration. This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action”, set the tone for a gathering focused on driving change and empowering future generations. The event also raised funds for CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education), a charity dedicated to helping girls in sub-Saharan Africa access education and lead change in their communities. All proceeds from ticket sales went directly to this important cause, reinforcing the event’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of young women globally.
Throughout the day, attendees were inspired by a range of outstanding speakers. Katy Barrow-Grint, Deputy Chief Constable at Gloucestershire Constabulary, and Dr. Andri Vasou, Head of Platform Development at Bioarchitech in Oxford, shared their stories of resilience and success. Other speakers, like Joy Isaacs, Founder and CEO of ARgENTUM, and Lindsay Willott, Founder of Customer Thermometer, spoke passionately about the importance of leadership and empowerment, both as entrepreneurs and role models.
Jen Sewell, Accounts Partner at Gravita, also spoke of the event’s importance: “Gravita is committed to promoting equality and driving meaningful change, and it’s an honour to sponsor such a prestigious event. The women in attendance were a testament to the incredible things women are achieving today—whether running businesses, driving innovation, or leading industries.”
Gail Vallis, Senior Associate in the Corporate and Life Sciences teams at Gardner Leader, summed up the day’s significance, saying, “International Women’s Day offers a chance to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of women across all industries. The morning inspired other women and girls to follow their own aspirations, demonstrating that ambition knows no bounds.”
At Gravita, we are proud to stand alongside Gardner Leader, supporting initiatives that promote equality and empower women to succeed. This partnership reflects our shared values and our ongoing commitment to not only driving positive change in our businesses but also in the broader community. We look forward to continuing to work with Gardner Leader to further our mission of fostering empowerment, innovation, and equality.
