Heather Swanston Chair

Heather Swanston appointed as Chair

It’s an exciting time to be at Gravita. With the accounting market rapidly evolving, we’re growing at pace to ensure we can stay ahead of the curve. As such, we’re thrilled to announce that Heather Swanston, seasoned former pwC Partner, joins Gravita as Chair.

Heather brings several decades of experience at Partner level, joining Gravita as Chair of the Board after an impressive 35-year career with PwC. In the last ten years, Heather led the Refinancing and Restructuring practice in PwC UK and sat on the UK PwC Supervisory Board. She then relocated to Tokyo, where she joined the PwC Japanese Leadership Team as the business scaled rapidly.

Heather will continue the focus on Gravita’s compelling long-term vision of being the full service tech-enabled accounting partner of choice for ambitious businesses and the people around them. She’ll also be demonstrating her commitment to being a people-centric firm and championing our culture that attracts and retains top talent.

Heather has led numerous multi-stakeholder and cross-border financial advisory mandates. Her Partner career began with the largest UK Coal-fired power station (Drax Power) and, most recently, with a significant Global Tier 1 automotive supplier. She has worked with many private equity houses across many sectors, and spent time with two banks including NatWest, where she worked with leveraged finance clients.

Caroline Plumb, CEO at Gravita: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for Gravita. The accounting market is evolving at pace, and to ensure we stay ahead of the curve, we must continue to scale and grow at pace. I do not doubt that the experience Heather will bring to the Board will be enormously valuable for our clients and people, and we look forward to working closely with her.”

Christian Hamilton, Co-Founder and CIO of Tenzing, expressed his enthusiasm for Heather’s appointment, saying: “We are thrilled to have Heather on board as Chair. Heather’s extensive experience and strategic counsel will be invaluable as Gravita continues to grow across the UK.”

Heather Swanston, Gravita Chair of the Board: “I’m delighted to be joining the Gravita team. The firm’s ambitious growth trajectory, coupled with their focus on client experience and tech-enablement, is something I have been impressed by and look forward to being part of as they continue to grow and succeed.”
