Following an impressive three-year tenure delivering on Gravita’s growth strategy, Caroline Plumb has decided to step down as CEO of Gravita. Under her leadership, the business has completed six transactions, expanding its footprint across Essex, Oxford, Bristol, Exeter and London, and more than quadrupled revenue and headcount.
Caroline has ushered in a new era for Gravita, one which she and the Board mutually believe is ready for its next phase of evolution. In the interim, Heather Swanston, who has been serving as Chair of the Gravita Board since the beginning of the year, will be stepping in to lead the business whilst we look for a suitable replacement.
Heather brings with her several decades of experience at Partner level after a notable 35-year career with PwC. Over her last ten years, Heather led the Refinancing and Restructuring practice at PwC UK and served on the UK PwC Supervisory Board. She then relocated to Tokyo, where she joined the PwC Japanese Leadership Team as the business scaled rapidly and led PwC’s Global Restructuring Services team. In addition to her time spent with clients, Heather has dedicated a significant portion of her career to supporting the development of next-generation talent. Notably, she chaired the ‘Partner Matters’ committee for four years at PwC and subsequently served on and later chaired the ‘Partner Admission Committee’ for 15 years.
Commenting on the news, Heather said: “We are extremely grateful for Caroline’s inspiring leadership and dedication to Gravita over the last three years. Her work ethic, leadership, ambitious plans for the business, and relentless drive for growth have been, for me and many others at Gravita, something truly inspiring to be a part of. Gravita has something very special to offer the market, both in terms of excellent outcomes for clients, and the experience of our people, and I am excited for the business to move into its next phase of growth.”
Caroline commented: “As I reflect on the last three years at Gravita, it is not the significant growth of the business which stands out as the defining moment for me. Instead, it is the talented colleagues I have had the pleasure of working alongside and their commitment to our ambitious technology and transformation strategy. The journey Gravita has been on and continues to be on, and that I have had the great honour and privilege of leading for three years, is quite remarkable.”
