Gravita adds some Oxford excellence as we welcome Critchleys

Published on:  21 October 2024

We’re delighted to announce that Oxford-based firm Critchleys has joined Gravita.

From our earliest conversations, it was clear that we had found kindred spirits in the Critchleys team. Just like us, they love working with innovative businesses and are committed to providing exceptional, hands-on services to help their clients grow; the perfect combination.

Critchleys has deep roots in the City of Oxford, and has played a vital role in the wider Thames Valley business ecosystem for over a hundred years. We couldn’t be more impressed by the respect the Critchleys team has among their clients, with many relationships going back decades, and some, over a hundred years.

Gravita shares the same passion and has a growing number of clients within some of Critchleys’ key sectors, namely charities, education and life sciences.  Critchleys acts for over 3,000 clients, 250 of which are in the charity and education sectors, including many University of Oxford colleges and leading independent schools.

Our tech-enabled approach and expertise in listed markets, as well as our specialisms in tax and compliance, will offer huge benefits for growth businesses across the Thames Valley. Alongside Critchleys, we’re passionate about supporting this ecosystem, and the crucial part it has to play in the success of the wider UK economy.

Our CEO, Caroline Plumb said: From our earliest conversations, it was clear the team at Critchleys are exceptional and well respected by clients. Both firms share the view that investing in people is paramount to long-term success, and we’re focused on offering a platform to take team training, development and overall employee experience to the next level. We’re also delighted to establish a presence in Oxfordshire, with its innovative growth businesses and expertise in life sciences and emerging technologies. We are incredibly excited about this partnership and warmly welcome the team and its clients to Gravita.”

Gravita’s ambition is to pioneer the next generation of accountancy firms, embracing technology to deliver for clients, drive efficiency and be a leading employer for our people. Together, we will work towards our mission to become the UK’s leading tech-enabled accountancy firm for established small and medium sized businesses.
