Gravita becomes Top 30 accounting firm

Gravita joins forces with Carter Backer Winter and Davis Grant to become a Top 30 accounting firm.

Continuing our mission to become the UK’s leading tech-enabled accountancy firm for growth businesses, we’re thrilled to announce that two more firms have joined Gravita.

Carter Backer Winter (CBW)

CBW is a Top 60 chartered accountancy firm based in the City of London and has been providing business and financial support in the UK for over 65 years. Much like Gravita, clients are at the heart of everything they do. CBW has created an outstanding employee experience that complements our continued investment in people. The firm was recently ranked second in the UK accountancy sector’s best firms to work for in 2023, according to research by Best Companies, and is certified as a Carbon Neutral Operation. This demonstrates the importance placed on caring deeply and nurturing the team and the environment, that we both share.

“It’s clear that Gravita has the right team and platform to ensure that what we’ve built over the past 65 years continues to succeed and evolve. We recognise the value in creating a leading experience for our teams and clients, and we are delighted to join Gravita as they push the boundaries on what a forward-thinking and enterprising experience can look like in the future.”

Davis Grant

Davis Grant has spent the past three quarters of a century providing support to businesses in the UK and abroad. They have incredibly deep expertise in the technology industry alongside a high-quality client base and combine the experience and knowledge of trusted advisors with a first-class professional service. Their impressive portfolio of clients include fast-growing startups backed by the likes of Balderton Capital, Notion, Octopus Ventures, and Passion Capital.

“Partnering with Gravita will enable us to continue delivering excellent client experience through a coherent and bolstered offering, Given their strong reputation, high quality client base and plans around innovation, joining Gravita feels like a natural fit and all the partners and team can’t wait to collaborate in redefining accountancy for fast-scaling SMEs.”

The accounting, tax and advisory teams from both CBW and Davis Grant will be joining Gravita, meaning we now have some of the most talented people in the industry under one roof. This additional resource in talented team members, now sitting at over 400 people, allows us to focus more than ever on our clients and our people, who we couldn’t exist without. At the forefront of this team focus is our Chief People Officer, Kate Griffiths-Lambeth, who brings a wealth of experience in creating environments steeped in equality, respect and development.

"I’m delighted to welcome our new colleagues to Gravita as we continue our mission to become the UK’s leading tech-enabled accountancy firm for growth businesses. Gravita’s ambition is to be a pioneer in the next generation of accounting firms, embracing technology to deliver for clients, drive efficiency and be a leading employer for our people. We believe we can build a challenger firm in this space and our partnership with CBW and Davis Grant is the next step on that journey.”

With Carter Backer Winter and Davis Grant joining Gravita, we’re encouraging positive business transformation through people-led change, and establishing great cultures where individuals can thrive and give their best, which is passed on to our high quality clients.
