Team - Alex Wright

Alex is a Manager specialising in charities and not-for-profit organisations, supporting clients with audit, independent examinations and financial reporting across a wide range of sectors.

Alex joined the firm in September 2021 as a trainee and qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in August 2024. Since then, he has developed strong expertise in charity finance, delivering statutory audits and independent examinations for organisations of varying size and complexity.

His experience spans a broad range of not-for-profit organisations, including international aid charities, grant-making charities, faith-based organisations, arts and culture charities, and students’ unions. He works closely with clients to help them meet their reporting requirements while providing practical advice and support tailored to their needs.

Before joining Gravita Godfrey Wilson, Alex spent six years working in industry, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day and periodic accounting operations. This commercial experience gives him a practical understanding of financial management and the operational challenges organisations face.

Outside of work, Alex is Treasurer of a newly formed Bath-based charity that supports families with young children experiencing financial hardship by providing essential clothing and equipment free of charge. This hands-on involvement in the sector gives him valuable insight into the realities facing charities and the communities they serve.
