Team - Jonathan Newbound

Jonathan is a Manager specialising in charities and not-for-profit organisations, with extensive experience supporting a diverse range of organisations across the sector.

Jonathan joined Gravita Godfrey Wilson in 2023 as an Audit Manager, bringing with him more than a decade of experience working with charity and non-profit clients. He trained with a small accountancy practice in Bath before joining Monahans in 2010 as a newly qualified Chartered Accountant. There, he developed a specialism in the not-for-profit sector and became an Audit Manager in 2014.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has worked with a broad range of organisations, from small unincorporated charities to larger charities, academy schools, registered social landlords and pension schemes. In recognition of his expertise, he achieved the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting in 2019.

At Gravita Godfrey Wilson, Jonathan supports charities and not-for-profit organisations with audit and assurance services, taking a practical and collaborative approach to helping clients meet their reporting requirements and strengthen their financial governance.

Before becoming an accountant, Jon studied French and History at the University of Warwick, bringing strong analytical and communication skills to his work with clients.

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys building Lego with his two boys, spending time with his family at National Trust properties and serving as a governor at his children’s school.
