He has expertise working with listed businesses, investment companies and international groups where complex transactions, valuations and financial reporting judgements can create additional challenges. His approach combines strong technical accounting and audit expertise with a practical understanding of the business and commercial context behind the numbers. He also has a keen interest in how technology, data and AI are changing businesses across different sectors and how they can enhance the quality and effectiveness of audit.
Joseph believes a good audit relationship should extend well beyond the year end process. He stays close to his clients throughout the year, giving CFOs and finance teams access to senior advice when issues arise and helping them address complex accounting, valuation and reporting matters early. His aim is to make the audit process as straightforward as possible while maintaining the challenge and professional scepticism expected of a high quality auditor.
Recognised in the Accountancy Age Top 35 Under 35 awards in 2021, Joseph combines technical expertise with a pragmatic and commercial approach. He enjoys working with ambitious management teams and boards, understanding what matters to their businesses and building long term relationships based on responsiveness, challenge and trust.
